About Healing With Love: A Sanctuary for Whole-Person Healing

Healing With Love was created from a simple truth: lasting healing happens when the mind, body, and spirit are supported together.

When Laura Agresta officially launched the practice in November 2024, she set out to bridge a gap she witnessed throughout her 13 years in healthcare. Too many people were stuck in their minds—retelling painful stories, unpacking their emotions intellectually, but still feeling the same tension, anxiety, and stress in their bodies.

Laura founded Healing With Love to change that. She wanted to create a compassionate, clinically grounded space where emotional, mental, and physical healing could coincide. A place where clients could move beyond coping and step into true regulation, resilience, and self-connection.

Her background as a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, combined with advanced training in Somatic Stress Release™ and Reiki, allows her to blend science, intuition, and trauma-informed care in a way that supports the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Healing With Love has quickly grown into a trusted sanctuary in the Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Burlington, and Grimsby communities, supporting dozens of clients seeking something deeper than traditional therapy alone.

About Laura Agresta: Registered Nurse Psychotherapist & Founder of Healing With Love

Before opening her practice, Laura spent over a decade as a Registered Nurse supporting individuals at every stage of life—from prenatal and postpartum care to NICU, mental health, palliative and hospice care, and community care.

Working closely with people navigating deep emotional pain, chronic stress, and traumatic experiences gave Laura a profound understanding of how the body responds to suffering. She saw firsthand how emotional wounds often appear as physical symptoms: tension, headaches, digestive issues, sleep struggles, and overwhelm.

Her personal experiences reinforced this truth. Supporting loved ones through mental health challenges—particularly during moments of crisis—showed her that talk therapy alone, while helpful, often wasn’t enough to release the deeper layers held in the body.

This became her turning point.

Laura pursued extensive training in Reiki, Somatic Stress Release™, and integrative healing approaches to truly bridge the gap between body and mind. Her work now blends the wisdom of both science and intuition—evidence-informed psychotherapy, embodied nervous system work, and gentle energetic healing.

Her personal motto guides every part of her practice: Healing happens when we feel safe, supported, and connected to our bodies. Clients often describe her presence as calm, grounding, professional, and deeply empathic. Many share that sessions feel like “finally exhaling after holding it together for years.”

The Principles That Shape Your Care

Healing isn’t about getting rid of stress—it’s about helping the body remember how to move through it. When stress is processed rather than stored, we feel clearer, lighter, and more grounded. This work helps you come home to yourself—to feel safe in your body, connected to your emotions, and able to meet life’s challenges with calm confidence.

  • Vision

To be a trusted space where individuals—especially caregivers, healthcare professionals, parents, and high-achievers—can access integrative mental health support that honours the whole person.

  • Values

    • Compassion: Meeting every client with empathy and understanding.

Integrity: Providing evidence-informed, ethical, trauma-aligned care.

Healing With Love Is Not A Traditional Therapy Practice— Nor Is It A Typical Reiki Studio

Nurses are trained to see human beings holistically—to notice what’s spoken and what’s not, to understand subtle changes in the body, to hold presence through pain, and to care with humility and skill. Laura brings all of this into her sessions.

Most importantly, clients are treated not as diagnoses, but as whole people. Their stories, emotions, identities, and lived experiences are honoured with compassion and respect. Together, you move beyond “understanding” and into experiencing healing—through the body, the breath, and the nervous system.
